The Maryland Development Center Welcomes Dr. Mohan Suntha as a Board Member

The Maryland Development Center is pleased to announce that Mohan Suntha, MD, MBA has joined the MDC Board of Directors. Dr. Suntha is Chief Executive Officer of the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), a two-campus, academic medical center in downtown Baltimore that provides a full range of health care to more than 250,000 patients each year with: 9,000 Employees; 1,000-Licensed Acute Care and ICU Beds (combined University campus and Midtown campus); and $1.5 Billion Net Revenue. As CEO, Dr. Suntha oversees: University Hospital; University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center; R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center; and the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital.

Prior to assuming his position as CEO of the UMMC, Dr. Suntha served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of St. Joseph Medical Center, Inc. and University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center LLC from 2012 to September 7, 2016. Prior to his time at St. Joseph Medical Center, Dr. Suntha served as Vice President for System Program Development at University of Maryland Medical System. He has been with the University of Maryland since 1991, when he was a resident with the radiation oncology department. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated his acumen for clinical care and hospital management. Dr. Suntha is the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Professor of Radiation Oncology at University of Maryland School of Medicine.
