Vascular Rescue, Inc.
Bringing Advanced Hemorrhage Detection and Management to the Field
Raj Sarkar, MD
Gil Blankenship, PhD
Chairman and co-Founder
Vascular Rescue, Inc. was founded by Dr. Rajabrata Sarkar and MDC Founder Gil Blankenship to automate life-saving surgical procedures for use in remote areas when time is critical and expertise is limited.
VRI’s first product is the Femoral Artery Access Device for semi-automated access to the femoral artery for hemorrhage control. Blood loss is the leading cause of preventable death on the battlefield. Arterial access provides a pathway for the REBOA procedure – Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta – a life saving procedure that has seen only limited use in the field due to the challenges of providing femoral artery access.
VRI is also participating in the MDC project on Hemorrhage Detection with the Henry Jackson Foundation for Military Medicine. The HJF project is funded by the US Army.
